Listening for What Matters
Music, creativity, and contemplation have been threads running through my life for as long as I can remember.
I’m a writer, teacher, and music minister, and my work is rooted in a simple conviction: that paying attention—to ourselves, to one another, and to the sacredness already present in life—can change the way we live.
My path has taken me through music, writing, teaching, entrepreneurship, and many other creative pursuits. Each has taught me something, but beneath them all I keep returning to the same questions:
What helps us listen more deeply?
What helps us become more fully ourselves?
What helps us recognize what matters?
Music Ministry
Music has been one of the most enduring ways I explore those questions.
Today, I offer sacred and contemplative music for worship, reflection, comfort, connection, and joy—in churches, spiritual communities, retreats, and more intimate settings. My repertoire ranges from Christian sacred music to uplifting songs, familiar music from across generations, and my own original work.
I believe music can create space for us to listen more deeply—to ourselves, to one another, and to the sacredness already present in life.
Making space for the sacred through music is at the heart of this work.
Writing
Writing is another way I listen and make sense of the world.
I write about spirituality, creativity, consciousness, and the experience of becoming more fully ourselves. My books and ongoing writing explore the questions that continue to interest me most: how we find courage, how we hear our own inner voice, and how we live with greater intention and awareness.
My current work includes God’s Music Within You, a collection of reflections exploring the idea that each of us has a unique inner “tonal center”—and that part of spiritual life is learning to hear and live from it.
Teaching
Teaching has always felt like an extension of my creative work.
Whether I’m teaching music, sewing, or a creative practice, I love helping people move past the voice that says “I can’t do this” and toward the discovery that they can.
For me, teaching isn't about having all the answers. It's about creating enough encouragement and space for someone to discover something for themselves.
A Few Other Chapters
My life also includes real estate, sewing, entrepreneurship, family life, and the experience of cancer survivorship. These chapters continue to shape me in ways I couldn't have anticipated and teach me about resilience, creativity, people, and the many ways we make a life.
Listening Deeply
I’m still exploring what it means to live a creative, courageous, and spiritually grounded life.
For me, that begins with paying attention.
To the music.
To the quiet voice within.
To the person sitting across from me.
To beauty.
To grief and joy.
And to the sacredness already present in an ordinary moment.
Listening deeply.
Living courageously.
Making space for the sacred.
I'm glad you're here.
