Adoration

In my heart there is a room. 

In the room there is a flame. 

In this room I am at rest

In the Light of my King. 

No earthly care can touch me

Or distract my adoring gaze

Sometimes tears pour down

Sometimes I’m just amazed

But one thing doesn’t change

It’s me and Jesus here. 

At the beginning and the end of the day.

He has never left me. He has never changed. 

Only waited for me with open arms

In this sacred place. 

This sacred place is 

The alter of my heart

Where the King is on His throne.

When I bow before Him, 

It is He and I alone. 

I am safe here. 

I am loved. 

Nothing more to do right now. 

But be at peace in this time with my God. 

No other eyes on me. 

No other soul to please. 

Just me and my Maker. 

He puts me at ease. 

I lay my burdens before Him. 

I cry at His feet. 

He lifts up my face

And blesses me with gentle peace.
